The
skiing here in St.Anton is very varied and really does cater for all
tastes - you just have to know your way around - here again inside
knowledge is a great help!! Here I
will tell you as much as I can about St.Anton and where it is best
for you to ski, taking into account your ability level. St.Anton has
three main ski areas - Galzig, Gampen/Kapall & Rendl running to
260km of prepared piste, in addition to this, St.Anton is also linked
to the Lech & Zurs ski areas. If you wish to see the interactive ski map of the area click here or if you would like a 3D trip around St.Anton click here

There are 185km of deep powder slopes. St.Anton rightly has the reputation of having some of the best off piste skiing in the world. There are plenty of runs for the intermediate skier too and you can ski many kilometres to the surrounding villages, have lunch and then ski home..... Around 40% of the runs in St.Anton are prepared for the beginner, 50% advanced and 10% for the expert skier. ;lmjdlqdj fwefwe cwfvcwfwgv b ebeb . lkl;ddfdvrg gegergdghbh jhryjryt jtyjt jtjtyj jtyjtyj hrhrtjh jtjyt gwag jrtyjty hehreth jhrjr jhrjrytj jrjrtyj rjrj jhrjh jjrtyjrtyjtjktyjtjtj gerg
New
for the 2009/10 season is a much improved fun park on Rendl with many
jumps, kickers, rails and slides. In the fun park you will find a
table top, wash out board, fun box, pro jump and other obstacles for
those of you who like to try out or show off your freestyle skills!
The fun park along with the new Rendlbahn (opened for the 2009/10
season) when combined with the great off piste skiing to be found on
Rendl should make this area very popular. The new Rendlbahn has
been built at the top of the village about 100 metres from the
Galzigbahn so gone is the annoying walk / bus ride out to the old lift.
The only downside with Rendl is that it does not get the sun in the
mornings so on cold days it can be very hard and icy up there.
golf and it is the same with skiing. Try to teach yourself and
all that you will achieve is to ski totally incorrectly with many bad
habits that most likely will lead to you hurting yourself, and this
advice applies to learning to ski anywhere not just here.... I ski for
around 120 days each season and I still have lessons!! I believe that
Mr Tiger Woods still has a coach and he isn't too shabby at hitting
that little white ball... There is a good ski school here and if you
can afford it I would say get individual lessons - it works out the
same cost wise in the long run but you just get up to speed quicker!
There are also quite a few private freelance instructors and guides
working in the resort - for further info drop me an email and I should
be able to point you in the right direction.
For
those of you who are thinking of coming to St.Anton for the off piste
skiing – I would say Yes Yes Yes – it is fantastic here. But
you really should book yourself a qualified guide and make sure that
you have all the correct safety equipment - AND that you know how to
use it correctly. There is a lot of information about safety equipment
in the off piste "skiing" link
