Firstly I should point you in the direction of my apartments page
- there you will find self catering apartments all in the very best
positions in St.Anton with great access to the slopes and lifts to all
of the ski areas.
However if it is a hotel that you are looking for then St.Anton has a great
variety of Hotels and B&B's ranging from the traditional to the
extremely modern in design terms. I will not even attempt to list all of them
!! Instead I will list details of a few that range between the expensive and
cheap ends of the market, hotels that I feel are very good value or offer
something a little different. I will give you an idea of the price that you
will pay per person per night. I will show the minimum and maximum prices that
the hotels are quoting - the price varies with the type of room as well as the
dates that you wish to book. I have chosen hotels that are all within easy
reach of the slopes as well as being close to the centre of the village. Remember
that these are all hotels who are NOT paying to advertise on this site - they
are here because I know that they are very good.... and because of this you
will need to book up early if you want to stay in any of them...get on that
phone or email.
If you find this web site
useful please make a small donation to
help us keep it running....thanks
I would
also point you in the direction of the tourist office, they keep a list of all the beds that
are available in the resort on a daily basis or you can go to the village
info site at www.stantonamarlberg.com
There
are a few things that you should bear in mind when looking to come and stay
here in St.Anton :
1. St.Anton is very popular and many of the hotels are already booked up
for a lot of the season a year in advance - certainly for the high season
2. Bookings are normally from a Saturday to a Saturday - the only way that you can get something different is at the last minute or maybe in the
off season although some tour companies do offer different start days.
3. Many
of the Hotels prefer to be paid in cash and not by credit cards
4. If you consider staying on the main street in the centre of the village
you should remember that it will be very noisy in the early hours of the
morning as people leave the clubs
5. The whole resort area of St.Anton / Nasserein & St.Jacob stretches a
very long way and you will need to get to the slopes by bus if you are staying
out at the extremes (the cost of the bus is included in the lift pass) - this
also means getting a taxi in the evenings after the buses stop running.
The St.Antoner Hof
This
five star hotel is extremely good as you would expect from the star
rating. It
has an excellent restaurant and is regarded as being one of the best
places to
eat in the village. The bar and lounge area is very nice and designed
in such a way that the whole feel is very cosy. The rooms and suites
are amazing, with most having a real fire, some are even laid out over
two levels. It is not cheap to stay here but if you can afford it I
would certainly recommend it. The hotel also boasts a lovely spa
facility with an indoor
pool, sauna & steam rooms. The St.Antoner Hof is located in the
centre of
St.Anton but it is not on the busy & noisy main street so you
should be
guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep.

The Hotel Post
Another of the top
Hotels in St.Anton and is rated as four star. It is situated in the middle of
the village on the main street. Underneath the hotel is one of St.Anton’s main
night clubs so I would try and arrange a room at the rear of the Hotel (which
will look out over the slopes) to avoid being disturbed by the late night /
early morning revelers. As accommodation is half board guests will be pleased
to hear that the Post also has a very highly rated restaurant. The spa area is
very well equipped with indoor pool, sauna, steam and solarium rooms. Price
wise this hotel is in the top bracket with rates between 90 & 230-euro pp
per night.

The Himmlhof
In my opinion one of the
best places to stay in St.Anton. It is a four star hotel and is bed and
breakfast - not half board which allows you to eat out in the many great
restaurants that the village has to offer. It is run by Sebastian and his wife
Margherita who are wonderful hosts - so much so that you will have to book
very early to have a chance of staying here !! In the afternoon when you return
from skiing you will find a hot soup and bread waiting for you. The spa area
has a sauna, plunge pool and solarium. The Himmlhof is situated in the centre
of town but off the main streets so early morning noise will not be a problem.
Price wise the Himmlhof is in the mid range between 70 & 130-euro pp per
night.

Lux Alpinae
This one is different
and spectacularly so !! Lux is the concept of light and Alpinae is of course for the
mountains. Modern architecture combines with luxury to make this hotel unique
in the village, the complete south wall of each room is glass giving wonderful
views out across the mountains – even from the bath ! The Lux Alpinae is owned
and run by Alexandre & Sabine, they are wonderful, fun, hosts taking a very
active role in looking after their guests. There is live music once a week with
many locals making the trip to listen and drink in the comfortable
surroundings. There is a spa area with sauna and steam rooms as well as a full
size-climbing wall built inside the hotel ! The restaurant is great with an
extensive menu and wine list. The hotel is situated outside the village centre
close to the Rendl Gondola. The ski bus stops on the road outside and takes you
to the main lifts. Price wise the Lux Alpinae is mid range with rates between
90 & 160 euro pp per night for half board.

Ski Hotel Galzig

This new addition to the village is
situated right next to the main ski lifts and also very close to the centre of
St.Anton, you will get the double benefit of being right on the slopes as well
as being close to all that St.Anton village has to offer. It is modern in
design and has some very nice family suites sleeping up to four people. There
is a nice spa / relaxation area with sauna, steam and solarium rooms. Car
parking is also included in the price, which is great if you are planning to
drive here. The hotel is bed & breakfast allowing you to explore the great
restaurants in the village. Price wise this hotel is in the mid range with
rates between 75 & 120-euro pp per night.

Haus
Rundeck
This
family run Hotel
has been greatly extended over the summer and the result is simply
wonderful, very modern and stylish making it one of my top
recommendations for St.Anton. The Rundeck occupies a good position in
the
centre of the village, set back from the main street so that noise
should not
be a problem. It is also non-smoking which is great for St.Anton where
smoking
almost seems to be compulsory! There is a good spa area and lounge area
with a
bar and a real fire. Klaus Eiter and his family will make you very
welcome in
this B & B hotel, which also has car parking facilities. As you are
in the
centre of town all of the great restaurants, bars and clubs are moments
away as
are the main ski lifts. Price wise Haus Rundeck is in the mid range
with rates
between 86 & 108-euro pp per night.

Bergschloessl
I have included this
hotel for two reasons - firstly I think it is one of the most attractive hotels
in the village and secondly because it is about as close to the slopes as you
can get! It only has 11 rooms so you will most likely need to book well in
advance but it is a great hotel for a romantic holiday in the snow. All the
rooms have their own individual character and the bathrooms have traditional hand painted tiles.
There is a spa area with sauna, steam and fitness rooms. Whilst you can step
out of the door directly onto the ski slopes the centre of the village is only
a few minutes walk allowing you to sample the great St.Anton restaurants and
bars in the evenings. There are a variety of rooms and suites available with
the Bergschloessl being in the mid range of prices with rates between 70 &
130-euro pp per night.

The Moessmer
The Moessmer is a large
hotel situated in the centre of St.Anton but off the main noisy streets. It is
family run and offers well-sized basic accommodation at a great price. If you
want a central no frills place to stay in St.Anton this is the place for you.
All rooms are en-suite with TV with many also having a balcony. There is not a
spa area in the hotel but there is a games room with table soccer, table tennis
and billiards. With the hotel being bed & breakfast it gives you the
opportunity to indulge yourself in some of the great restaurants that abound in
St.Anton. Price wise the Moessmer is in the low range with rates between 55
& 80-euro pp per night.

Haus Erwin Spiss
Haus
Erwin Spiss is a family run bed & breakfast house located in the centre of
St.Anton but set back from the noisy main streets. Run by Erwin and Erika Spiss
you will be assured of a traditional welcome and a good breakfast each morning.
All rooms are a good size with en-suite bathrooms and TV. It is just a two or
three-minute walk to the lifts and all the good restaurants and bars are
extremely close. Price wise we are in the low range with rates between 40 &
50-euro pp per night. Tel 0043 5446 2546

Haus
Bachseite
Haus Bachseite is run by
Jens and Margit and offers very nice apartments consisting of Lounge/ Bedroom,
double bedroom, two bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The apartments
are close to the centre of the village but in a very quite area, which makes it
the ideal place to stay if you are coming as a family with youngish children.
You can cook in the apartment or go out and sample the bars and restaurants that are all very close.
Don't let her know that I told you but when I stayed here Margit very kindly
watched over my kids for a few hours whilst we went out to eat and I would
highly recommend this haus to all, especially those with young families. Jens
is also one of the top instructors in St.Anton and there are some great photos
on the breakfast room walls. Price wise we are in the low range with prices
between 40 & 60 euros pp per night.

Haus
Genewein
Another great little
B&B run by Gitti and her husband Erich. Situated just out of the centre of
the village but very close to the main lifts (you can actually ski back to the
Haus). To reach Haus Genewein walk up the hill from the roundabout by the
Galzig gondola (Alte Arlberg Strasse) and after 100m turn right into Rudi Matt
Weg and you will see Haus Genewein on your right. Gitte does like to socialise
(party) with her guests so you can look forward to a great old time if you stay
here. Also you are about 20m from the "underground on the piste" one
of the famous St.Anton après ski bars. Price wise we are in the low range with
rates between 45 & 55-euro pp per night but you will need to book pretty
much a year in advance as they get fully booked very quickly.

Haus
Spiss
I recommend these
apartments for those of you who like a bit of après ski as they are situated
above the Jacksy's bar - Jacksy's being one of the few places in town where you
can get Guinness as well as sky sports! The apartments are run by Hannes and
Johanna Spiss (who also own Jacksy's) and are situated in the centre of the
village but off the main streets. So if you do get bored of drinking in Jacksy's
you are within easy reach of all the other bars, restaurants and clubs. Hannes
himself was a top ski racer and there is an impressive collection of his
trophies on display in the entrance hall. The apartments are for 2, 3 & 4
people with prices in the low range and rates between 40 & 55-euro pp per
night.

Pepis Ski Hotel

This
Hotel was completed during the summer of 2007 in time for the 07/08
season. It is in a great position in the village being just 100 metres
across the street from the main Galzigbahn & Gampen chairlift. The
hotel is part of the Sport Jennewein group. This means that you will
get favourable deals on you equipment hire and storage. The rooms
and the hotel itself follow the recent trend in St.Anton for striking,
modern designs. The rooms are nicely furnished and there is a wonderful
penthouse suite (93sq m) available for those of you who like to ski in
style! It is a bed & breakfast hotel with prices for a double room
between 105 - 190 Euro pp per night.

Anton Hotel

The
Anton Hotel puts you just a few steps from the slopes and Galzgbahn
whilst still remaining a few minutes walk from the centre of St.Anton.
The hotel is owned and run by Robert and Gitti Falch and they have
imposed their artistic flair throughout this modern hotel. The rooms
and apartments are furnished very simply and finished throughout with
alderwood, this works very well giving them a feeling of light
and spaciousness. Like most hotels in St.Anton it is also bed &
breakfast leaving you free to explore the graet restaurants inthe
village. The hotel also has a rooftop sauna with great views across the
ski slopes. As well as the standard rooms the hotel also has apartments
for 2 - people. Prices range between 85 - 125 Euro pp per night in a
standard room.

Haus Schindler

The
Haus Schindler is a great little hotel, situated very close to the
slopes, so close in fact that you can virtually ski to it. It is also
only a short walk of 3 or 4 minutes from the centre of St.Anton. My
main reason to suggest that you stay here however, is nothing to do
with the location, it is because of the food! This is one of my
favourite restaurants in St.Anton and I would certainly recommend that
you stay here as a half board guest and work your way through the great
menu. The rooms are spacious and nicely done and there is also the
availability of a suite. Prices range between 82 & 105 Euro pp per
night.

Hotel Schwarzer Adler

This
hotel has been in existance for over 400 years having started life as a
lodging and stables for travellers making their way along the Arlberg
pass. The original dining room (stuben) is still used to this day!
Nowadays however the hotel has grown in quality and size to its present
4 star status. There are some very cosy panelled rooms and others
with mountain views from the more modern part of this hotel. There is a
very good wellness area with indoor pool, Saunas and steam rooms.
The hotel is situated at the Nasserein end of the pedestrian zone
so is within easy reach of the village centre and comfortable walking
distance from the main lifts. Prices which are for half board start at
103 Euro pp per night for off peak rising to 182 for the peak New Year
week. The hotel offers many different luxury packages if you are
looking for something very special.

Haus Alpin
If
you would like to ski in St.Anton but find the cost of accommodation in
the village a little expensive then there are options for you. Why not
consider staying out of St.Anton itself? There is a very good ski bus
service that brings guests into the village centre each day - these
buses run regularly throughout the day and best of all - they are
included in the lift pass. The accommodation prices are much better and
you also get to stay in a very beautiful & peaceful spot! Haus
Alpin is one such place that I would highly recommend, it is family
run, has modern well eqipped self catering apartments that are ideal
for a family hoiliday but one of the main advantages is the ski bus
from here. It only makes three stops in Pettneu (one right outside the
house) and then it is straight down the main road into St.Anton meaning
a very quick journey to the lifts without a stop every few seconds.....
check it out.
