St.Anton does have a reputation as being an expensive place to come and ski, and yes it can be expensive – But anywhere can be expensive depending on just what you do whilst you are there.  Here I will show you plenty of ways in which you can put together a trip to St.Anton at a bargain price!

Flights. The best way of getting here is to use Ryanair out of Stansted to Memmingen. If you spend a little time checking the prices you will always find some very cheap deals. You should be able to book flights for between £10 & £35 return AND inclusive of taxes. Believe me – I have been doing this for a few years now. Remember however that accommodation in St.Anton is pretty much only Saturday-to-Saturday.  If there are a group of you, car hire is very cheap at Memmingen. I have put full details of this route in the getting to St.Anton Link.

Accommodation.  I will blow my own trumpet a little bit here, check out the great deals on apartment rental that I always have on offer. I have 8 apartments in St.Anton that are available for between 40 & 50 Euro per person per night IN PEA SEASON and full details of these can be found on my apartments page. It can be expensive to stay in the centre of St.Anton but if you look at accommodation around the fringes in Nasserein & St.Jakob you will get much better prices. There is an excellent free ski bus service too so getting to & from the lifts is not a problem.

Insurace  If you are organising your own holiday / flights etc you should take out some ski holiday insurance. I would suggest that the insurance offered through the Ski Club GB is very good with excellent cover.

Eating  Most places in the village are B&B so you will have to eat out quite a bit. The food on the mountain is very good and not that expensive. To save money and eat well during the day I would suggest you have soup. There are some really great soups over here and they are very filling AND good for you!  I would point yo in the direct of the Rodel Hutte and the Arlberghohe as they have great soups. There are also some very reasonably priced restaurants in the village, check out the where to eat link. You could also book a self-catering apartment, in this way you can alternate between eating in and out. There are some very good supermarkets in the village and food is cheaper here than in the UK – so assuming that you eat whilst living in the UK – you will save money on your shopping whilst you are over here!!

Lift Passes. If you come here in the low season the lift passes are cheaper and an added bonus is that the slopes are quieter too.

Drinking Well this is normally where most of the money is spent on a skiing holiday!! Only one tip here. If you come out in the last week of the season all of the bars are getting ready to close and they want to sell all of there stock before they close – so in the last week plenty of them are literally giving it away…. much much cheaper to drink here in the last week.
